Crackers are one thing I haven't experimented much with. I keep meaning to, but I had a flop with some cheese crackers and just haven't gotten around to it. While the cheese crackers were good, they weren't really crackers or healthy. This recipe come from Hallee over at Hallee the Homemaker
Rosemary Garlic Crackers-adapted from Hallee
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbsp olive oil
3-4 tbsp water(may need more)
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp crushed rosemary
Pour flour, oil, salt, and seasoning into food processor. Slowly add in 3 tbsp water until dough forms, by pulsing. If dough seems to dry, add more water, if to wet at more flour. Take dough out an place on floured surface. Roll out until 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares or use a cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet and cook at 400 degrees for 10-15 mins until golden brown.
You can place dough on parchment paper, roll out, then cut. Then pick up paper with crackers on it and place on cookie sheet. I had no problem moving the crackers.
**These were definately kid friendly, A and Q have both eaten quite a few. I will double or triple the recipe next time I make them and try out new seasonings.
I can't WAIT to try these! I need some healthy inexpensive crackers for my boys.
